9716 MPH – Birth of Jelly-Belly

At 1:49 p.m. on July 16, 2009, my wife Britain gave birth to a healthy 5 lbs 6 oz baby girl.

Gabrielle 002

We got to the hospital the night before at 11:30 p.m.

 Gabrielle 003

Our room had a cute saying on the wall.

 Gabrielle 006

My wife and her childhood comfort “Boots” the cat.

 Gabrielle 007

This is my daughter’s first picture ever. Not necessarily the happiest memory for her but certainly one of the best for Britain and I.

 Gabrielle 023

After she was cleaned up…

 Gabrielle 024

I kept taking pictures…

 Gabrielle 025

Her first weighing…technically only 5.8 oz but they round up to 6.

 Gabrielle 027

Finally, some sleep under the heat lamps.

 Gabrielle 032

Mom holding her for the first time. One of the happiest moments of my life!

 Gabrielle 034

The two happiest parents (if not tired).

Gabrielle 044

The sink was cold and she didn’t like that, but….

Gabrielle 046

…she loved the head massage part of bath.

Gabrielle 048

Precious!

Gabrielle 059

We then transferred to a mother baby room.

Gabrielle 066

That’s where she met the first part of her family.

Gabrielle 068

Aunt McCall is so excited!

Gabrielle 071

Grandma Parrish is just memorized.

Gabrielle 075

Grandpa Parrish is the most precious with his granddaughter.

Gabrielle 077

So much love for this little girl.

9715 MPH – The Walk

The Walk. Yes, the walk. Not just your average run of the mill walk but the walk that really got it started. Labor, that’s what got started.

Walk 004

We got on the swings at the park nearby and had some fun.

Walk 009

This one I took while I was swinging forward and not looking…turned out pretty good.

 Walk 016

Where’d she go?

 Walk 014

There she is!

 Walk 017

We are so cute!

 Walk 021

Britain decided it was time to have record of her as a beautiful pregnant woman.

 Walk 025

She wanted to pose for an above shot. It turned out pretty good. The fun part about all these pictures is they were taken between 8 and 8:30 in the evening and we were at the hospital the same evening by 11:30…

9711 MPH – Larson Home

On June 11th, we went to visit family in Ephraim. We ended up heading up the canyon for dinner and to play around. By this point, my brother, who has an excellent Nikon D40, had lent his camera to me.

I had fun taking scenic pictures while we waited for Chase to show up and take us up the mountain in the Larson’s sweet awesome Willy’s Jeep.

9628-9704 MPH – Pooh Bear

During the last week in June and the first of July, we broke out our new baby equipment. It was way fun. We got a Pooh Bear plush from Disneyland that we’ve been using as a fill-in for our baby until she comes.

Baby 001

This is the playard that we got. It packs up into a very portable system. It has a changing table built in as well as a basinet. Both remove to create a raised playpen. The playpen even drops down all the way to the bottom. Its a pretty awesome deal.

 Baby 002

Close up of the basinet. You can see the electronics that have nature sounds, classical music, a small light, and a vibrating unit to soothe baby…or Pooh.

Baby 003

Cool swing! It has music, nature sounds, and vibrating seat. It is electrically powered and also transforms into….

 Baby 004

A  bouncer. The same seat pulls out and becomes a portable bouncer. We have such cool stuff!

Baby 003

Here is our car seat. Pooh is a bit big for it but you get the idea.  You may have noticed that all of these items have the same polka-dotted and striped pattern. All five pieces match. The car seat is built to latch into the stroller too.

Baby 001

See, in the stroller. Facing backwards so Pooh can see who’s pushing.

 Baby 002

For when Pooh grows up, it also is a standard stroller too.

Baby 001

Now onto the crib. It is a Pooh Bear crib and not just because Pooh is in it or there is a Pooh mobile…

  Baby 002

It has Pooh Bear sheets, quilt, etc. and actually has Pooh on the actual crib on the left side you cant see right now. It’s cute. The changing table matches too. The theme is called Peek-a-Pooh. The changing table came in a box labeled, “Pooh Changing Table.” *laughing*

9620-9623 MPH – Disneyland

So, Britain, Jameson, and I went to Anaheim, Ca., for so I could compete at the PBL National Leadership Conference and more importantly, so we could have a blast at Disneyland!

We started Friday, June 19, picking up Jameson on the way. We drove to Las Vegas and spent the night at Brit’s Uncle Doug’s Home. We toured the strip and thought about going to a show or something but it was pretty expensive for an unplanned deal.

Disneyland 018

MGM Lion…cool.

Disneyland 025

Transformers on the LUXOR…also cool.

We finished the drive to Cali and were in Disneyland Park by 1 on Saturday.

Disneyland 019

It’s A Small World was redone and is always classic fun. I still like the song even if most people don’t.

 Disneyland 027

This picture looks more precarious than it really is…I’m actually filling a water bottle at a drinking fountain…I promise.

Disneyland 028

Jameson went nuts in the Splash Mountain line and took a bunch of shots at me. This was the first and it turned out amazing (says Jameson and Britain). So naturally, he took about 20 more of the same.

Disneyland 058

Still the same but I’m smiling.

Disneyland 077

Britain and I went to the Blue Bayou for our anniversary dinner (more than a month early, I know).  It was special because we dinned here on our honeymoon as well….food is excellent! Atmosphere is superb!

Disneyland 078

I took this thinking of my sister. During family trips, McCall would ride this over and over and over. It was her favorite I think.

Disneyland 079

Good ole Mr.. Toad. Who said you had to be a kid or have kids to go on kid rides. Britain and I went on all the kid rides we could both here and at Disney World last fall.

 Disneyland 080

Sweet! Buzz Lightyear!

Disneyland 017

Here is the PBL crew after the awards session. We got our pictures taken and then headed back to the parks!

 Disneyland 021

My beautiful wife. We had a fun time. The baby even had some fun jumping around inside on certain rides…

 Disneyland 248

By Bro is such a stud! I’m glad he came along. He leaves for basic training in August and this probably will be our last big hurrah.

 Disneyland 251

This ride is one of Brit’s favorites. On the honeymoon, I got her on the ride but she didn’t know what she was getting into…oops…I didn’t mean to trick her. She ended up liking it a lot so I guess that makes up for it.

Disneyland 249

Splash Mountain…is…awesome! I love the look on Jameson’s face. We got soaked!

 Disneyland 001

This was one of our last photos at park closing. Disneyland is so much fun! It’s more than just a place to ride rides. It is the Happiest Place on Earth!
